FSU Health Lipidology™

At FSU Health Lipidology™, we work with you to tailor a highly customized plan that puts your health first. Our goal is to ensure that the lipids in your blood, (cholesterol and triglycerides) and other cardiovascular risk factors are where they need to be to reduce your risk of a heart attack, stroke, and other vascular disease.

Lipids are fatty substances circulating in the bloodstream. While they are essential for maintaining good health at proper levels, an excess can pose risks. Through specialized laboratory testing, we assess your lipid profile—this includes measuring cholesterol and triglycerides to ensure these substances are not present in harmful excess.

At FSU Health Lipidology™, we offer these services to help manage your lipid health:

  • A highly comprehensive consultation with extensive education on the Science of Lipids and Lipoproteins.
  • Specialized labs and images including advanced Lipid tests as deemed necessary
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Detailed discussion regarding lipid lowering medications that are rooted in evidence-based medicine.
  • Lifestyle changes

FSU Health Lipidology™ is a good fit for the patients who have:

  • Had a heart attack or stroke, despite being on cholesterol lowering medicine.
  • A genetic cholesterol or triglyceride disorder
  • History of heart disease or prior stroke, peripheral artery disease and carotid artery disease, or history of Bypass surgery/Stent placement and have not been able to reach your cholesterol goal.
  • A strong family history of premature heart disease or stroke and want to determine your own risk.
  • Not tolerated your cholesterol lowering medicine but still need to have your cholesterol lowered.
  • An elevated coronary calcium score indicating plaque buildup in your coronary arteries.

Our tailored approach for each patient is provided by board-certified lipidologist Sudha Ravilla, M.D., who has a lifetime of passion and commitment to the field of Lipidology.

We look forward to working with you, your referring physician and your health care team to ensure you receive the most comprehensive care possible with the best results to lower your cardiovascular risk.
